I am a London-based illustrator, originally from St Petersburg.
My practice builds upon a diverse professional background in creative industries which includes Design, Architecture, Film and Fashion. My work explores social space and physical place through photographic and illustrative reportage, urban landscapes and our experiences of living within them.
I am interested in the way different cultural, social and political influences emerge in design: the branding, interiors and buildings that saturate our daily lives. My own cross-cultural awareness enables a particular objectivity that emerges in my visualisations of the city and its people. Intimate observations of streets and scenes are captured in inks, watercolours and oil pastels. I seek out mediums that input their own marks, fluidity and immediacy in the development of images.
My skill set is quite eclectic and ranges from the hand-drawn to digital collage. Traditional techniques meet a contemporary design aesthetic in simple, direct imagery. The outcomes have narrative qualities that emphasise aspects of the urban environments from which they arose.
